PlayStation 5 VR glasses

The latest PlayStation VR headset is very easy and quick to connect to your PlayStation 5 console. This is done through a single cable. Plug-and-play, that is! Insert one end of the cable into the console and the other end into the headset and you can start immediately. The PlayStation VR is designed with connectivity in mind. Did you know that the PlayStation VR supports 3D audio? This further enhances your immersion in the virtual world and makes you experience the games and other applications even more intensely.

In addition to the headset, the PS VR2 comes with a set of intuitive controls, including two PlayStation Sense controllers that accurately follow your hand movements. This allows in-game actions to be performed with unprecedented precision and control.

Sharp images, optimal fit

The revamped PlayStation VR headset is equipped with a 4K HDR screen with a resolution of 2000 by 2040 pixels per eye. This high resolution makes the graphics look sharper and more detailed than ever before. Images are displayed very sharply and even the smallest details are still visible. So you can enjoy your games, videos, and more even more. To be able to accurately follow all your movements, the glasses are equipped with four inside-out tracking cameras. These four cameras neatly track and register all your movements. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the virtual world without restrictions.

But it doesn't stop there because one of the most striking and praised features of the PlayStation VR glasses is the design of the headset itself. The headset is remarkably lightweight. In addition, the headset is well balanced, making it comfortable to wear on your head. Even during long gaming sessions, you can comfortably wear the glasses without them pinching or slipping off. This is partly due to the fact that the headband of the glasses is easy to adjust. This way you can find the perfect fit for your head and the headset fits like a glove.

Stunning colors thanks to the OLED display.
Tested in our own XR space

Although the Sony PSVR2 is primarily designed for the PlayStation 5, I was particularly curious to see how it would perform as a PCVR headset. This was made possible thanks to the official PC adapter.

The image quality is immediately impressive. The OLED screen provides deep black levels and rich colors, something you don't often see in other headsets in this price range. The PSVR2 really shines in darker scenes. It almost feels cinematic.

Tracking is good, but somewhat more dependent on lighting conditions than other inside-out systems like those from Meta or HTC. The controllers work well and are ergonomically comfortable - although I sometimes miss the full software integration on the PC, depending on the game.

The setup via the adapter is simple, although you can tell that the software side is still under development. Not all SteamVR games work flawlessly, and some settings need to be manually adjusted. But if you're willing to put a little time into it, you'll get a lot in return.

What I appreciate most is the comfort. The headset fits nicely, is well-balanced and even after longer sessions, you hardly feel any pressure on your face. The lenses are sharp, the field of view is fine, and the whole thing feels like a premium product.
