VR Tracking Straps for Extended Sessions
Tested in our own XR space
If you're serious about full-body tracking in VR, you'll soon end up with the accessories from Rebuff Reality. In my opinion, the TrackBelt and TrackStrap Plus set the standard when it comes to comfort, stability, and robustness during intensive VR sessions. We have extensively tested this set in our own XR space, with applications ranging from VRChat to training simulations. Here's my observation:
The Rebuff TrackBelt and TrackStrap Plus are designed for attaching Vive or Tundra trackers to your waist and feet. They are specifically meant for full-body tracking, where accurate motion transfer is essential. Compared to standard Velcro straps, these straps offer significantly higher stability - they stay in place, even during jumping or fast rotational movements.
Both products feel high-quality. The inside is lined with a soft anti-slip layer that prevents the straps from moving, even during sweaty sessions. The TrackStrap Plus has an extra advantage: built-in battery packs. These ensure that your trackers last much longer without having to work with separate power banks. Charging is done via USB-C.
We tested with both the Vive Tracker 3.0, Vive Ultimate tracker, and the Tundra Tracker. The threading feels sturdy, and there's no play. The positioning is also accurate; the height and balance of the TrackBelt are optimal for tracking precision.
What immediately struck me was how quickly you put on the straps. No fuss with loose Velcro straps: just put them on, click them in place, and you're ready. The TrackStrap Plus is slightly heavier due to the built-in battery, but you hardly feel it - the weight distribution is well thought out. And because you need to charge less during sessions, this mainly offers convenience in practice.
