Insight and Oversight with Meta HMS


Meta Horizon {{Managed Services}} provides administrators with real-time insight into the usage of all connected headsets. The central dashboard shows when and how often a headset has been used, which apps have been opened, and how long they have been active. This data assists organizations in optimizing trainings and measuring engagement.


To ensure focus and safety, you can also enable a kiosk mode via HMS. This restricts the headset to one specific application or a fixed work environment. Users then cannot independently navigate to other apps or settings. This is ideal for controlled environments such as trade shows, onboarding processes, or classrooms.


In addition, HMS provides the opportunity to follow sessions live via casting. This allows you to remotely view what a user sees in VR. This can be used during training, demonstrations, or for technical support. Casting works wirelessly, without the need to physically be near the headset, and is immediately available within the HMS platform.

With Meta Horizon {{Managed Services}} Services (HMS), you manage your VR headsets in a secure, scalable, and centralized manner. The following steps show how the process works:

Registering Headsets with HMS


Start by registering the received headset(s) in Horizon {{Managed Services}}. This can be done through the Meta Admin Centre using a unique device code that appears when the headset is started. Want to register multiple headsets at once? Then use the Managed Device Setup app on your PC or laptop, and connect the devices with a USB-C cable (included with every headset).

Create Configuration Profile


Now that the headsets are registered, you can create a configuration. This is a profile that will be applied to a group of Quest headsets later on. First, choose between the 'Individual mode' and the 'Shared Mode'. Then follow the steps and select the settings that suit your usage situation.

Apply Profile to a Group


After you've created the configuration profile, you can link it to a group. Haven't set up a group yet? Go ahead and create one, then assign the appropriate profile to it. Next, add the desired headsets to this group. As soon as the headsets connect to the internet, the configuration is applied automatically.
