Central to this generation is the Apple M5 chip, designed for heavier computing loads in mixed reality. Difference with the earlier M2 version: the 2026 version with M5 primarily focuses on higher performance and efficiency, with support for a higher refresh rate (up to 120 Hz where it used to be 100 Hz) and a longer battery life (up to approximately 2.5 hours of general use). As a result, the headset feels faster and smoother in heavier scenarios, while the operating concept (eyes/hands/voice) remains in the same line.
